OUR COMMUNITY PHILANTHROPY

OUR COMMUNITY PHILANTHROPY

Community philanthropy is defined as a development model with active participation of producers and associates who promote self-management of well-being in rural communities through organizational capacity building, family participation, and local resource mobilization to achieve common goals.

Since this approach is still in a pilot phase, Fundación Aldea aims to strengthen internal and external communication to stimulate community philanthropy and mobilize assets that help rural communities respond to crises and climate change.

From the Nuestro Hogar Feliz program, women leadership is also promoted in community philanthropy organizations. Gender equity goes beyond participation in activities and seeks greater women representation in decision-making boards. Fundación Aldea also explores ICT4D support for community organizations, such as drinking water consumption records and social best-practice monitoring.
